Frequently Asked Questions
When is the best time of year to start pest control treatments?
In northeast Indiana, most preventative treatments begin in March as the weather starts to warm up, with peak season running through the end of November. That said, pest problems don't always follow the calendar. Bedbugs for example don't care what season it is — they are perfectly happy hitchhiking home from your vacation in the middle of January. If you are dealing with an issue, don't wait for spring. Reach out to us and we will assess the situation year round.
How do I know if I have a rodent problem?
The most obvious sign is seeing one — and if you have, you may have already reached for the nearest broom. Beyond that, the most common indicators are rodent droppings, scratching or scurrying noises in your walls especially at night, and a strong unpleasant odor from rodent urine. Rodents are more than just a nuisance — they can transmit hantavirus through their droppings, urine, and saliva, which makes a rodent problem something to take seriously and address quickly. Send us a text or give us a call and we will get it handled.
Do you service commercial properties?
Yes, we proudly serve both residential and commercial customers. Whether you run a restaurant, office, or warehouse, we will tailor a plan that fits your operation. Commercial services follow an Integrated Pest Management approach — IPM for short. Rather than blanket spraying on a set schedule, IPM focuses on monitoring activity, identifying the root cause, and using targeted treatments only where and when they are needed. Commercial services also include additional documentation and tracking to ensure full compliance and accountability for our customers.
What is the difference between your monthly and quarterly service plans?
Both plans include web removal and a barrier treatment applied to the exterior of your home. The key difference is frequency and treatment duration. Monthly treatments are guaranteed for 25 days and allow us to catch new pest activity quickly before it becomes a larger problem. Quarterly treatments use a longer lasting barrier solution guaranteed for 60 days, designed to hold up through the season between visits. One important note — if you have a wasp allergy, we strongly recommend the monthly plan. Quarterly visits may not catch a developing wasp nest quickly enough, and that is a risk we take seriously.
How should I prepare my home before a treatment?
For most treatments, simply make sure we have access to the areas that need to be treated. Don't worry about muddy boots — we always cover them before entering your home. If you are only receiving an exterior perimeter treatment, very little preparation is needed on your end. We do ask that you let us know about any sensitive areas you would prefer we avoid. We are big supporters of pollinators, so no matter how convincing you are — we will not spray your flower beds.
Do you offer eco-friendly or natural treatment options?
We do! Our mosquito and tick service includes a natural oil based treatment option. It eliminates ticks and drives mosquitoes away without harsh compounds — perfect for customers who prefer a more environmentally conscious approach to pest control. Just ask us about it when you reach out.
What pests do you treat for?
We treat for all common household and commercial pests including ants, mosquitoes, cockroaches, spiders, wasps, bedbugs, ticks, rodents, and more. At this time we are not licensed for termite treatments, though that is something we are actively working toward. We are also currently in the process of obtaining our wildlife removal permit through the Indiana DNR — so stay tuned for that!
Do you offer a guarantee?
Absolutely. We stand behind every service we provide. If you see pest activity within your guaranteed treatment time-frame — which varies by service, so ask us about the specific coverage for your plan — we will come back out and make it right. You work hard for your money and so do we, and we want to make sure you feel confident that every dollar you spend with us is well worth it.
Is the treatment safe for kids and pets?
Yes! Our treatments are safe for both kids and pets. We are a family with two young boys and animals of our own — we would never use anything in your home that we wouldn't be comfortable with in ours. The only exception is if the interior of your home needs to be treated — in that case we do ask that children and pets are not present during the service. This isn't because the treatments are unsafe, but out of an abundance of caution. We treat every home like it's our own family inside, because we know how much yours means to you.
How long does a treatment take?
Most perimeter treatments are completed in under 15 minutes. However, the scope and complexity of the issue can increase the time needed. More involved problems like rodent exclusion or interior treatments will naturally take longer — we never rush a job just to get to the next one.
How soon will I see results?
Most treatments deliver immediate results. However, some pests require a little more patience. Ant treatments using bait, for example, can take 7-10 days as the bait works its way back through the colony. Bedbugs and cockroaches can show immediate results but sometimes require multiple treatments to fully eliminate the problem since a single application doesn't always reach every individual. We will always be upfront with you about what to expect before we begin.
What if pests come back between treatments?
Reach out to us immediately and we will come back out to address the issue at no additional charge within your guaranteed treatment window. Sometimes the first approach needs to be adjusted — every pest situation is unique and we are not afraid to try a different solution to get the job done right. We will never leave you without a response.
